01Who we are
Sydney Portable Grandstands Pty Ltd (ABN 84 684 067 909) hires portable grandstand seating across Sydney and greater NSW from our depot at Eastern Creek NSW 2766. These terms apply to every hire unless we agree something different with you in writing.
Our registered office is Office 5/18 Exchange Pde, Smeaton Grange NSW 2567. You can reach us on 0447 060 862 or at info@sydneyportablegrandstands.com.au.
02Published prices
Our rates are published on the pricing page and are the rates we charge. Every published figure includes GST, delivery and professional setup and pack-down within 50 km of our Eastern Creek depot, engineering certification documents, and public liability insurance cover.
We may update published rates at any time, but the rate we confirm to you in writing at the time of booking is the rate you pay for that hire. We will not increase a confirmed price after you have booked.
03Site access
All published rates assume sufficient site access for the unit to be towed in and set up. That means a clear path wide enough for a vehicle and trailer, and firm, level ground to set the unit down on. Grass, gravel, asphalt and compacted dirt are all suitable.
Our units cannot be installed on a slope. We can build across a crossfall of up to 2 degrees; beyond that, the ground must be levelled before we arrive. This limit is a condition of the engineering certification each build is signed off against, so it is a requirement rather than a preference and it is not something we can waive on the day. Where a site exceeds that fall, a level pad must be prepared in advance; we are happy to advise on what is needed.
We confirm access and ground conditions with you before you book, at no charge, by photographs or a site visit. You are responsible for telling us about anything that affects access — locked gates, bollards, soft or waterlogged ground, slopes or crossfall, overhead wires, weight limits, steps, narrow entries or restricted delivery windows.
If a site needs craning, additional plant, extended manual handling or a second visit, we will tell you the cost in writing before you commit. We will never add an access charge after the event.
If we arrive and the site cannot be accessed or safely built on as described — including where the ground is not level — and the difference was not disclosed to us, we may charge reasonable costs for the wasted attempt and reschedule the delivery.
04Bookings and confirmation
A booking is confirmed when we confirm it in writing. Until then, your date is not held. We hold dates informally while an enquiry is live, but a confirmed booking always takes priority.
05Payment
Payment terms are set out on your booking confirmation and invoice. Prices are in Australian dollars and include GST.
06Changes, cancellation and postponement
Tell us as early as you can if your event changes. Cancellation and postponement terms are set out on your booking confirmation. Where we can move a booking to another date rather than cancel it, we will always try to.
07On the day — your responsibilities
You are responsible for the site and for the people using the grandstand during your event. That includes keeping the seating area supervised, keeping the stated seating capacity, not modifying or moving the unit, keeping access clear for pack-down, and telling us promptly about any damage or safety concern.
08Safety, capacity and certification
Each unit seats up to 200 people across nine elevated tiers, based on a typical crowd mix. The stated capacity must not be exceeded.
Every build is certified by a structural engineer and we provide structural engineering certification documentation and evidence of public liability insurance before your event. If at any point we judge that using the grandstand is unsafe — because of weather, ground conditions, crowd behaviour or damage — we may stop its use.
09Weather
We install in ordinary weather. Where conditions make installation or use unsafe, we will talk to you about postponing or adjusting the booking. Safety decisions are ours to make.
10Damage
Fair wear and tear is expected and is on us. You are responsible for loss or damage beyond fair wear and tear that happens while the equipment is in your care, other than damage caused by us.
11Liability and your consumer rights
Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any guarantee, right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law. Those rights sit alongside these terms and cannot be contracted out of.
Subject to those rights, our liability in connection with a hire is limited to resupplying the service or paying the cost of having it resupplied.
12Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia.
